There are commercial robots, as well as free ones, and you could even design your own without writing a single line of mql4 code…but how often, or how do I know for sure that I need to optimize/re-optimize a forex robot using historical data in metatrader, since the market keeps changing? and what would be the length of time to use to optimize for 1M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 1H, 4H, Daily charts? thanks!

It seems too easy. You spend a few hours a week watching trends, buy, sell, and rake in huge money. It seems too good to be true. How many people are actually successful and how much time do they put in doing it?

I would like to know about a trading platform that has all assets such as stocks, indices (even foreign), commodities, and forex? all indicators for their interactive charts and at least a 5, 10, 15 minute time frames. give me some free ones if you can. I like freestockcharts.com but they don’t have every kind of asset. also, how much is Think or Swim, i heard they were pretty good.
Also, where can I find charts that have 15 second time frames?

As far as I know, candlesticks show open quote and close quote during some time period. Then the open quote of a candlestick should exactly equal the close quote of the previous candlestick. But it doesn’t. What am I getting wrong here?

I am trading the forex and stock market since 12 years now. I invested a lot of money and my whole life time but I only lose money. I need a trading strategy or trading setup that generates profits.

I am going to Australia in September, the exchange rates have fluctuated a little but theres no significant increase in the pounds favour. Does anyone foresee anything that will affect the Australian dollar and make it better for the british pound between now and September?

I’m going to Germany in May, and I’m hoping that my pound stirling will go a bit further against their Euros when I have to pay up for my hotel room and my transport costs.

So, does anybody know if that’s likely to happen and the pound is going to strengthen up against the Euro by that time, as I fear, the reverse?

When finance geeks discuss their positions in various financial instruments, such as securities, equities, futures, forex trading etc. the terms long and short are used. "Going long", "going short" are used as well. To "short a stock" is used, but never "long a stock." I understand what both mean, but why are these words used? What is the origin? It has been reported that the tern "short" comes from being in a deficit (e.g. short of funds) but where does "long" come from? There are also the long and short positions as it pertains to the amount of time one stays invested (e.g. long-term, short-term). Also, in Forex trading, the terms are uses synonomously with "sell" and "buy" (long and short). This combined with ever confusing "put" and "call", also synonymous with "sell" and "buy" and the attached language of "shorting a stock" – but never "longing a stock". This all seems unnecessarily complicated.
@mildred f – Did you even bother to read the question? The question is about word usage, jargon, semantics – not the meaning of the words, which are well known.

I’m going to Japan next week, including a few days in tokyo, and a female friend of mine wants me to get her a kimono or yukata. Which I am more than happy to do.

Thing is this is my first time to Japan so I have no real idea what part of town I would most easily find these things.

Also how much does a decent one usually cost yen/dollars?

Our Economy is in shambles and the dollar is gettiing weaker and weaker. Last year, at this time, 1$=122 Japanese Yen. Today as we speak, 1 $=90 Yen, that means the dollar lost about half its value.
We need your suggestions on how to fix this economy. We need to stop all this finger pointing else, in the next two years, we may actually be worse off than zimbabwe.

I live in the US and I keep getting internet ads from the UK. Also when I search, I see that most of my search results are from sites based for the UK. Even when searching for basic products for purchase online I see the British pound rather than the US dollar sign. It’s sort of odd to me because I never have experienced this before. I understand that of course there are plenty of UK sites but makes wonder about my internet security.

Thank you for your time.

So I have been trying this for a while (mostly simulators)…I haven’t had any losses with real money..however it seems like this is pure luck aside from time to time where I can predict where a pair is heading.

I feel lost most of the time; I have read a lot about it and knew quite a bit…but it seems like 90% of the time…its just luck (short term)

Am I wrong in thinking this?
