Hi,

Someone told me that it is better to exchange Yen to Dollar in Japan than at a bank in the US. Is this true? Why is that?

Thanks!

I am currently teaching in Japan and am going to transfer my savings from yen to dollars. Today, the dollar dropped to 3 year low – 105.72 yen to the dollar is the rate I get if I transfer today. Should I do it or will the dollar fall further?

Please only answer if you have a firm grasp on world economics and finances.

I don’t know too much about these things, if someone could lend me a hand, that would be great. I would just like some insight on the current trend at the moment.
I need to send money from Japan to Australia, and am hoping the Australian Dollar would go down, and the Japanese Yen would go up. What’s actually happening at the moment?

I’m asking because I’m going to Japan on March 26th. I’m very disappointed that the dollar is so weak and appears to be getting worse everyday. Do you see any chance of some kind of rebound in the next couple of weeks? Should I buy some yen now or wait?
