How much income per year (in any major currency, e.g. Australian dollar, US dollar, pound, yen, etc) is enough to cover the bare essential goods that keep you alive, that is, food, water, and shelter?

My friend believes AUD 5,000 per year is enough, ,500 to pay for food (mainly fruits from a supermarket) and ,500 to pay rent for a unit in a country town.

OK I’m getting married in Greece in August. I’m paying for everything in Euro. I live in the US. Is it good for me that the Euro is going down? I thought it was but i did a currency converter and my 2,300 Euro wedding costs me ,927 USD! Is that right?!?! I’m sure this is a stupid question so sorry about that but any insight is appreciated!

My family&I might be moving to Birmingham soon.
I’m looking on the internet for houses, but I was wondering..
what would the difference be in the currency?
I don’t want to pick out a house for 300,000$ and have it actually be more in british money.
If you know, how much more does the canadian dollar cost then the british pound?
And what is the correct term for british money?

Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) are international foreign exchange reserve assets.[1] Allocated to nations by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a SDR represents a claim to foreign currencies for which it may be exchanged in times of need.[1]
Today, the US Dollar is the world’s primary foreign exchange reserve asset,[2][3][4] and SDRs may be little used.[5] Some nations, notably China and Russia (as well as the UN[2]), favour increasing the substance and function of the SDR.[6][7]
Although denominated in US dollars, the nominal value of an SDR is derived from a basket of currencies, specifically, a fixed amount of Japanese Yen, US Dollars, British Pounds and Euros.[1]
SDRs are the International Monetary Fund’s unit of account[1] and are denoted with the ISO 4217 currency code XDR.

Rs.5 lakhs = 000. Well here goes my issue…..I am 22, and no collateral assets to put forth as guarantee. I quit my job two months ago for continuing my education so no salary slips and stuff. I’ve worked as a risk analyst before for just over a year. I am of course beginning to realize how funny my situation is :) But there must be some ideas out there which could help. I want to invest the money in currency trading (The Forex market, Spot market, Spot or whichever term you prefer). I’ve been studying currency trading since when i was 13 and this is where i specialize in. If you think its stupid of me to take a loan and invest in such a high risk business, then please stay away; you’ve only known the majority.

And if you agree with me that nothing can beat the planning-intellect-experience combo…then well, I am badly in need of the loan. Ideas, links, contact info, every single word in your answer, is welcome. Thank you
no collateral, no pay slips…..i’ve been getting rejected on loan requests for them reasons.

I’m planning a trip to japan. I plan on saving up 2-3,000 dollars in american money to travel there. I know they deal with yen as their currency but I am having a hard time finding the value of a dollar to yen. Would -3,000 be sufficient enough for a two week stay? Of course I would need to know how much a hotel would cost. Plus certain activities I would like to do. I know they have cool karaoke bars. I was thinking of changing the date to october when they view the fall leaves. Has anyone ever been and recommend any places?

For example, would the USD lose all its value within a week, how would this affect forex traders, what pair should they trade and what kind of position should they have taken if they knew what was coming?
Also, if USD lost all or most of its value, would there still be trading in forex market, would United States withdraw currency from forex like it happened with Britain on Black Wednesday when George Soros Sold 15 billion pounds and British Government were forced to withdraw currency from European Exchange Rate Mechanism?
Last thing, would forex traders be able to close open positions, since after such a sock for United States would it be possible to still trade USD in the forex markets, i mean would USD still be tradable or it would vanish from forex market, and no one would be able to close positions and take profits?

Where can free historical currency pair quote information be obtained? The historical data needs to be in a text or spreadsheet format and quotes should be available for open, close, high, and low for any given day over an extended period. Ideally I am in search of quote information for the IQD/USD Forex instrument however access to other Forex, commodities, and futures quote data would be desirable as well?

I have invested on forex market for a while and frequently heard about carry trade. As i know, this term means to buy in like Euro/Yen pair to profit from the difference between the two currency’s interest rate. The diffence in this pair’s interest rate is 3.5% now, but what about the GBD/USD pair which has only o.25% in difference?

I went on MSN and it says "Currency In US Dollar Per US Dollar" and I can’t figure it out .
