Which Forex Trading website in Canada is not governed by US Rules and where Hedging is allowed?
FXCM.com is a good website but it is governed by US Rules. According to Rules in US Hedging is not allowed. Also when you open multiple orders you can’t close the last order unless you close the orders opened before that. When you put a stop for second order it closes your first order insead of last. Therefore I am looking for a website in Canada which is as good as FXCM.com but not governed by US Rules.

I want to buy a CD from DFTBA.com which sells things in US Dollars but I live in the UK and have a UK bank account with Great British Pounds in it. Will I get charged anything extra for like a conversion fee etc? Thanks.

Baby pips teaches about FOREX, not hedge funds. I need a website with ‘lessons’ like this.
www.babypips.com/school
I completely understand that you don’t "trade" hedge funds, I used babypips.com as an example because I like the way the website explains things.

Hi my name is Vincenzo . I just started using Forex as a way of learning how to make more money in the real world. I picked up a demo account from Forex.com and learned how to use that platform. I am currently practicing on the FxPro cTrader but this broker doesn’t work with the US =[ ..So I have a few questions if you FX pros could help me =]!!

Are there any reputable brokers that would allow me to open an account with ~-0 that is in the United States and would it even be viable to start with a small amount of capital (knowing how to use the trading platform) and be able to build up to a bigger capital to open a larger account with say a different broker?

I was looking for brokers and I have no idea where to start =\ …

I have two ideas in mind. but I do not know what to do to start..

1. Start small and build
or
2. Get ,000 and then start
and
3. Question: What (United States) brokers use their own platform (licensed+reputable) that has those little buttons to buy/sell AND charts?

Thank you for any answers I appreciate any and all your help!

I need to know where to find a place to find accurate reviews of Forex signals, managed Forex accounts and Forex robots?

I am a beginner in Forex Trading. Please try to suggest improvement strategies. I recently started practicing on (forex com) website and I understood the basic concepts of pip, p&l, bid and ask.
I am only looking at an initial 1000 pound investment, which is approx 1200 euros, and I am following the EUR/USD closely.
Initially, I plan on buying 300 euros.

I calculated a general scenario. If I ask at 1.41626 and bid 1.41712 = 86 pips will fetch 0.258$. i.e. 20 cents every time such trade is made. Even if I put 4 such scenarios, its 80 cents.
This seems ridiculous and will take up months or years even to make 100$.

I read many traders start with small investments, does it take so much time to make a return?

One more question I have is how much should I rely on the daily market indicators (candlesticks) open, high, low, close. If the data is reliable then one can put an order in advance, the next day, to buy at a price near the closing price of the last day and after buying if the value never gets to the bid limit on the first date then will the order have an expiry date? Is this a reliable strategy, that way there is a possibility to get at least 1000 pips.

Thank you for reading.
Thank you for so many insightful responses. Can anyone suggest just one or two (retain sanity, there are so many websites) forex websites which you use, are credible and offer good leverage without duping the customers just as the customer is making a profit? (forex offers 100:1 leverage)
I will certainly gain more knowledge on leverage and forex basic before proceeding.
I am currently practicing on the website forex (avoiding full website hyperlink) but I am unsure whether to follow it in the future with a later account as I have heard some dissuading reviews, about the site on forexpeacearmy.com and babypips.com, stating that it d/c you just if your account is going up. I have went through forexpeacearmy listed websites but some of them ask for a min 10K after 15 day trial, wheez.

Thank you.

If i opened a micro Forex account on a broker site and give my trader the "trader password" to trade for me, can my Forex trader withdraw my own money without I know?

I use this broker HotForex.com

Forex.com won’t let me because I’m from Canada and there were these threatening warnings about identity theft and stuff so I didn’t wanna just put I’m from the US and insert a fake identity number (whatever it’s called in the US).. Oanda.ca has terrible charts and so does investopedia.com; it’s just a line chart with no technicals whatsoever

So are there any other good websites? What’s funny is that I could set up the Forex.com app on my iPhone and it actually has better charts than any of these other websites

Thanks a lot

I trade currencies on Forex.com. Last year I was sent a 1099 form for my trades with USD vs Gold. I was not sent a 1099 form for my EUR/USD or USD/CAD trades. Are these trades taxable?
Can I have more than a Yes or No answer please, an explanation would be nice. Also, why would these trades not show up on the 1099?

I’ve been practicing with a demo account with forex.com. I’ve been using their forex trader pro platform which i personally like better than mt4 or fxcm. I’ve been using the scalping technique which i’ve been doing pretty good as for as return profits. I am thinking about investing 0 into a mini account and try and see how it goes then go from there. I’m wanting to know if scalping with a mini account is a good idea and if so is Forex.com a good broker to use for scalping with mini accounts or scalping in general. Thanks in advance

In 1945-46 I served in the US Marine Corps, 2nd Mardiv, occupation forces in Nagasaki, Japan after the detonation of the hydrogen bomb. At the time the exchange rate was 15 yen to a dollar. Now it is 104 to a dollar(msn.com) How did this happen?

I am Indian citizen and residing in U.S for a while. I have account with forex.com in U.S to trade currency in Over the Counter market. My question is that any profit arise from currency trading, is it tax in India or not? I don’t have social security number in U.S so I cannot file income tax in U.S . Do I have to report the income (profit) when I file income tax in India? Forex broker don’t give out any kind of form or information about tax purpose.
Thanks in advance

I’m looking at forex.com, which I’ve seen advertised on TV, and dukascopy.com, which I found after reading a bunch of reviews. I’m new to Forex and don’t want to get screwed over…are either (or both) of these sites good to use? Are there others I should be looking at?
Thanks for the answers so far. Just to clarify, my biggest concern is the legitimacy of the broker. I’ve heard stories about sites that are scams…they don’t execute orders, they intentionally freeze the software when you’re trying to make a trade, etc. I’ve also heard that some are even reluctant to let you withdraw money when you ask for it. That’s what I want to avoid.

BabyPips.com uses an example of making profit in a short position as follows:

http://www.babypips.com/school/how-you-make-money-in-forex.html

===================================
Trader’s Action

You purchase 10,000 euros at the EUR/USD exchange rate of 1.1800

EUR = +10,000
USD = -11,800

Two weeks later, you exchange your 10,000 euros back into U.S. dollar at the exchange rate of 1.2500

EUR = -10,000
USD= +12,500**

You earn a profit of 0

EUR = 0
USD = +700

====================================

*EUR 10,000 x 1.18 = US ,800
** EUR 10,000 x 1.25 = US ,500

====================================

Now if you did the above transaction at the peak of an up trend and EUR continued downward for a week as it weakened against the USD, and you sold your entire position, is it possible to make any profit in one direction of the same currency pair or can you only go long and profit as the trend moves upwards again?

Your answer is greatly appreciated. If possible, please provide a simple example as above.

So…I happen to have some amount to invest and planning to create a small forex brokerage, charging just 0.1 pips on eur/usd and other majors and 1 pip on all others. Would it be a good idea? Or people will stick to known names, like fxcm, forex.com, etc? 10x!
