For those who follow foreign currency, the British Pound has been on a tear and for the first time in modern history the Pound will double the value of the US$, currently it is at 1.9921 US$. I am not complaining of course, I made good money today going against the US in favor of the British but I was wondering:

1, Why has the GBP been on a tear?
2. When will the US fight back against the British?
3. How will this affect the Euro as the value of the US$ has hit an all-time low against the Euro? (1.35 US$)
4. How long should I keep shorting the US$ before the US finally decides to fight back against the British and the European market, and when it does, will the rally be juicy enough to start buying the dollar again?
