Is it possible to make a living from trading currencies FOREX?
I meet a guy at a party who said that’s what he did for a living.
Is it really possible for an individual to trade currencies. How can you compete with the institutions? What software would you use. What type of software do the institutions use?
This sounds really made up. Where can I learn more about trading Currencies?

Yes you can but you should be ready to lose the amount you are planning to put in your business. I mean the business is trading. Anything can happen when trading. Dont trade if you are not ready to lose. Again it is all based on your system. How good it is? how much backtesting you did on that system? if all these are set then you are good to go.. Yes, it is possible, but full of risks, just like stock market. The information is provided to you, FOREX is a better one and I have used it. They will send you a CD and allow you to practice. I have done this, but only with small amounts.

Also, you can make a good living on it but you won’t have a life.
What they do is that the to dozens, if not hundreds of trades a day of hundreds of thousands of dollars. They work on margins of hundredths of a cent but because they are dealing with so much money, they can make a bundle or go broke in seconds. The key thing is that for them to work with that size trades, they have to complete the sale (sell off their buys and cover their shorts) before the end of the day regardless of if they are making a profit or loss. Sure, it’s possible but he didn’t tell you how much time did he spend before gaining such amount of money.
Even if he uses any Forex robot, he already know at least basics of Forex trading which you can learn at BabyPips school.
I’m sure that he uses Forex software what trades instead of him. In other situation, he need to spend the whole day in front of PC to make such money.
