Hi Jazs,
What do mean by protected? I don’t think your capital can be guaranteed, but usually by protection, means that if the brokers go under the water, whatever money left in your account will be returned to you. So far I only know about QuestTrade, MF Global Canada, FriedbergDirect offer this protection through CIPF. There maybe others that I do not know about.
OptionExpress deals with options, futures, stocks, etc, and my friend said they are good company, but they do not deal in Forex.
I have not dealt with Questrade before, because QuestTrade does not have a MetaTrader as their trading platform and they only offers 1:25 as a leverage. I have also never tried MF Global Canada and FriedbergDirect, simply because I never heard of them when I started my Forex trading. I only heard about these three companies down the road when I have started my trading. I think they are good companies, but I already have good brokers, and I don’t want to spread my capital too thin to many brokers.
I use FXDD, FXCM and Alpari, based in the US, through my friends recommendation. I use these three brokers, and I have positive experience with them, and they are a member of the NFA, but I do not think they provide insurance on your investment like QuestTrade.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck
