A broker is the company that holds your money and provides you with the charts and market prices. You give your money to them. They provide you with the current prices and charts for each market. When you place a trade, your trade request goes to your broker, and they fill the order for you. When you then close the trade, your request goes to your broker, and they close the trade for you. Basically, the broker is what connects you to the Forex market itself. Without them, you can’t trade, or even see the prices for each market.
If you are looking for recommendations for which broker is the best, I would suggest FXCM. They are one of the biggest, and for good reason. Or, if you are looking for good Forex strategies, there is a large index of Forex strategies you can browse through, and they also are compatible with FXCM and a number of other brokers.
