With the strength of the euro against the pound surely we should join the ecu fully?
fair enough but interest rates in the u.s and gb are still on the way down the euro banks are considering putting rates up .

It depends on a large number of factors. It isn’t all about the strength of the currency. For example, the UK’s business cycle differs from countries with the euro, and thus prefer their own currency which give them greater flexibility in dealing with things such as economic shocks, etc.
No, its strong because the dollar is weak. It would wreck our economy
I don’t see any strength wi’ the Euro!! We are being ripped off. I wish they would go back tae Pesetas, they wurr magic. The Euro is droppin’ like a stone….Maybe if we reverted tae the Euro, we wouldnae get so upset aboot it!!! If we urr in the ECU, surely, we should all support the same currency….
It is temporarily strong because we are so closely allied to a weak dollar.
Wait 3 years, and give the world economy a chance to recover from its present difficulties, and you will find that the Euro doesn’t look so good.
