Not a done deal. As long as oil is traded in dollars, the dollar has an upper hand. Commodities in general are traded in dollars.
It will lessen the impact of US economic decision-making on the world, and will also lessen international need to boost the dollar. Similarly, it will increase the importance of the European Central Bank, and the euro exchange rate.
Some signs though already as the value drop of the dollar has caused businesses to change over to euros, many oil-producing states have started to grumble about the dollar; the dollar bills, especially older ones are much easier to fake; and you can stuff so much more money into a brief case if you use 500 euro bills rather than 100 dollar ones.
