Today, the exchange rate is £1 to US$1.407. In direct exchange, that’s $21,105. However, banks and credit card companies do not always use that exchange rate and add fees as well.
If you are trying to find out what you would be charged for something, call the company that will be supplying the money and ask them what their rates are and what their conversion fee is. On most credit cards, the ‘foreign transaction’ fee is well above 2%. On a $21,105 transaction, that’s $422.

It will depend on the exchange rate at the time you change the money. Also where you change it is important. For large amounts like you are asking for a bank may give you a special rate, other wise you will have to make do witha ‘tourist rate’.
Tourist rates are displayed by banks & news papaers daily and usually change through out the day. On one excahnge rate online site they were quoting £1= USD 1.5789, so GBP 15,000 would be USD 23,683.50.
that is the rate they will give you. You may want to see what other rates there are out there.
