I used to trade in the older version of Forex trading platform and they have live chart next to the position and now it is replaced with a calendar. But now it doesn’t work and not available. But is available in Forex Pro but I don’t liked it because it’s not the same.

Hey everyone,
I am new to forex and I was just wondering what 1:20 leverage means when I have a ,000 account?

I recently signed up for OANDA and selected a leverage of 1:20. If I deposit ,000, and put my volume as 1.00, what does that mean?

How much money am I losing or gaining per pip?
Am I risking all my capital (,000) if I open a trade on a volume of 1.00 on 1:20 leverage?

I traded using eToro a couple of times and whenever I open a trade, I am able to select how much money I wish to use on a trade and select my leverage.

However, for OANDA on MT4, when I open a trade, it only asks for VOLUME, TP, and SL. Why am I unable to select how much money I wish to use to open the trade? What if I only wanted to use ,000 instead of my ,000?

I am really confused and any help would be appreciated.

There’s basically a 50% chance of winning when trading with Forex. The bid/ask price is either going to go up or down. So why do most investors lose money when trading?

Wouldn’t the law of averages dictate that over time half the people trading should make money? It’s interesting to me that most people have the problem of opening a position and right off the bat the are negative (due to the spread). Slowly but surely regardless of how you read the charts, you start to lost more money on this trade. And most of the time that a person is supposed to be ‘trading’, their are actuating waiting to the numbers to turn. Either this or they close their position before allowing enough time for the prices to change in their favor.

So why is it that most traders almost always are unable to successfully be a trader? You don’t hear about most people doing well with Forex and being consistent.
