I have started trading eminis, forex index’s futures.

On the charts there is a setting for the chart tick size, ER2 Emini russell is 89 ticks for instance, I need to know what the other recommended tick sizes are for all the other most popular charts, anyone know of a list somewhere with this information?

Also a higher number of ticks is necessary to avoid getting stopped out too quickly, anybody know recommended stop loss tick sizes on different markets?

Three hours ago, I sold one lot of NZD/USD and so far, and so far, I lost 50 pips. How do I know when to hold and when to fold? I absolutely hate it when I put a stop-loss oder and all of a sudden the market goes backward and would have gotten my money back had I not placed a stop loss order. Also, I remember the concept of dollar cost averaging, where the trend never stays the same, trends always change.

I need help people: How do I know when to hold and when to fold? What should I do with this NZD/USD that put me 50 pips down in the past 3 hours?

Is it true forex robots need monitoring the market for days before starting trading themselves on their own?

I tried it a few years back with Forex Mentor/Peter Bain and never made money even though I put in probably several hundred hours studying.

Each day Peter Bain would come on and say (after the fact), "See here if you would have followed my system, you would have made 25 pips, 50 pips, or whatever." If things didn’t go well, he would say that you just have to be patient or it was a "fakeout."

Everytime I have researched this I always come across some poor soul who started trading forex 5 years ago who has just started to break even, the numerous websites that promise making $$$ in just a few short weeks, or "forex rating" websites that are actually promotions for other companies.

So, does anyone make make money consistently in forex?

About 20 minutes ago, I had 2 answers to my question. Now those answers have been deleted. But, they were both links to "make money online" type websites. Hmmm…who deleted them?

I’m not sure what you actually call these automated trading system, but i’m guessing they use some kind of algorithm software to sought through markets etc.

My question is really this. I’ve been trading Forex for 5 months now – mainly jpy/gbp market – and it’s about time that I got my hands on some automated software – but which one.

I like the look of the PipBoxer – but a bit too pricey, but maybe doable. Otherwise Forex EA looks pretty sweet at 0. The alternatives I’ve seen are like those spammy sites like the forex killer, which supposedly get you pips while you sleep. Not convinced.

Anyway, has anyone used any of these or recommend a decent package which has genuinely helped there overall forex trading profit,

What is the impact of the interest rate on the Forex market.

If i sell short us/can $ will i get paid interest or will i pay interest ?

I read that there is some timing limit to respect like 05 pm and wenesday.

If i have a 00 mini account for forex trading (Leverage of 4:1). After buying 1 minilot (0) EURUSD, what % loss of the EURUSD needs to be before i loss my 0 investment? How many pips before i lose that 0?
Assume EURUSD is 1.400 when i buy the minilot.

Then yen has been riding the carry trade meltdown for some time now. And for some reason, it’s seen as a "safe" currency in times like this. But if you look at the fundamentals, Japan is in big trouble. So this crazy rise in the yen is starting to look like oil did in the first half of 2008: a speculative circle jerk without the fundamentals to back it up. Am I wrong? Is it too early yet to short? What do you think?

I am a new student of Forex and realize both offer buy and sell options, both allow a predetermined price, I know the stop order is not guaranteed and the limit order is. I don’t know when the use of one is more appropriate than the use of the other.
