Suppose that a trade agreement between Japan and the United States makes it less expensive for U.S. residents to purchase Japanese goods. How does this affect the dollar-yen exchange rate?

It is my understanding that in 1918 the British Pound was basically the ‘World Currency’ or at least was valued more than the US Dollar. In what year did the US Dollar take over and surpass the British Pound in the world?
THIS IS A REAL QUESTION: I am referring to the book wrote by David Murrin named "Breaking The Code Of History".

This happen BEFORE World War 2, I’d like to know when it happen.

There is a difference in their value, so I was wondering how that works?

I’m just wondering how much the Pan-Stick foundation by Max Factor is in Great British Pounds, not dollars. It isn’t shown on the Superdrug and Boots website.

Did all the EU nations gather up all their gold and store it in a Swiss bank account and print "soft currency" like we do with the gold in Ft Knox?
Then y don’t we use that system

I have heard that the Euro is strong against the pound, so would it be better going to Miami for a partying holiday? Also, what is Miami like as a partying city?

Is there anywhere that is very liquid in currencies? Like where I could easily pull out the yen and convert it to Dollars.

Thanks.

Will Americans finally accept 1 and 2 dollar coins instead of paper money, which is more costly to make and is only in existence because one state has a huge market for making the material and the other reason because americans thinking that if the U.S. dollar is paper instead of coin it has a better feel as the world’s best currency.

Well, the British Pound is worth twice as much, the Euro is a ways up and now with the Canadian dollar worth the same and as analysts are saying, soon MORE, what will you do? ( Americans )

This is a general question to americans and yes, people like me living in canada, but I think I know what we’re all thinking, buy tobbacco and alcohol for MUCH cheaper across the border, but how do americans feel now that their dollar is worth less than the Canuck Colour money?? Yes I said COLOUR lol.

It seems like we’d see the dollar get stronger everytime a new Euro county has problem. But the dollar is staying weak even on days that Greece, France, Italy… announce major monitary problems. I know USA has a little debt problem as well, but I figured that was priced into the rate already.

I’m sick of losing money everytime I have to change euros to pounds in my bank and, if they want it ot not, UK is part of Europe

in exchange rates the british pound can be strong or weak against a currency, i know that the pound is strong against the Euro because £1.00 in euros is more than £1.00 in pounds so therefore i know the pound is strong against the euro because i they came over here and had to convert their currency to pounds they would lose some money because about 1.65 euros = £1.00, does anyone know what the pound is weak against?

If the British pound appreciates against the dollar, this will make:
A) British imports and exports more expensive.
B) American imports and exports more expensive.
C) British imports and exports less expensive.
D) British exports more expensive but lower the price of American exports to Britain
