I am building a spreadsheet to backtest Forex trading strategies.

I want to be able to find the difference between the circled values. Ideally to put the value in cell L93.

The only hard part is that there is not always 3 rows between each number to be used. Sometimes there may only be 1 row, or there may be 10 rows.
Is there a way for excel to fetch values between two of the same number? Like between 0′s?
I am asking b/c I need to do this hundreds or maybe thousands of times. I can find the difference between the sums of each of the two columns easily, but I want to be able to do this also.

Thanks

Vs. just trading the stock market?
Is it that day trading is illegal in some countries?
Is it because it requires less money?
Is it because it takes less money?
Point taken and understood.

I am thinking of getting into forex as an investment oportunity. It looks fun and possibly profitable if I play my cards right.
I have had practice on XForex.com, but that site is so unreliable and has such bad customer service that I cannot stay with it.

What are the top two best online forex companies? I don’t mind downloading trading software, in fact it might be better. An integrated online system is alright though.

I would like the top two just in case someone who works for a forex company answers =P
Edit: I mean online companies that allow me to trade in foreign companies.

I have to buy about 4,000 euros worth of equipment from Lithuania. The slump of the pound has cost me a few hundred quid in the last couple of weeks, so I’m not a happy bunny.
Does anyone know what is most likely – the pound continuing to plummet, in which case I should pay for the stuff as soon as possible, or the pound regaining some value, in which case I should hang on to my cash as long as possible?

Then yen has been riding the carry trade meltdown for some time now. And for some reason, it’s seen as a "safe" currency in times like this. But if you look at the fundamentals, Japan is in big trouble. So this crazy rise in the yen is starting to look like oil did in the first half of 2008: a speculative circle jerk without the fundamentals to back it up. Am I wrong? Is it too early yet to short? What do you think?

does business with or is it a whole system of average prices for the currencies in question

£2,696,385

I got this weird email that I won a British lottery because I put in my email address but I never did. should I send in my information and collect however much money this is worth or should I just forget it?

Why is euro stronger than dollar as of today and many last months? Is it because of European government’s surplus/deficit spending that’s causing the euro to get stronger? (I know that deficit spending raises real interest rates, and that causes the country’s exchange rate stronger than other country’s)

I’ve been trading for a while and had a remarkable profit 30%+ only in October where other financial markets collapsed. Will this be a once in a life time or will it happening again in the following months to come?

Hi,

I trade forex, and I am currently reading a book by Joe Ross, and there is some confusion. I am hoping someone can help me out with this confusion.

He says that volatility must be equal to at least twice his immediate costs or he will not trade. How is volatility measured in forex? And how is costs measured, by pips?

He also says that unless he has a chance to cover costs with no more than half his position he will not trade. What does he mean by this?

He also says he trails a 50% stop. How does he work out 50% stop, 50% of what?

I would appreciate it if someone could get back to me regarding this with detailed explanantions :) Is there any one else trading the Ross Hook in forex with success?

Brendan

I know this is "top secret" ;) , but please share what’s the currency you are now investing in.
I bet on the NZD/USD, and just gladly discovered that NZD has the highest trend the past month against USD :)
On the other hand I bought CHF/JPY and now I have very hard time and not so good feelings about CHF/JPY going over 0.92…what in fact I need.

Thanks!

I am going to London, UK in March and I thought it would be ideal to buy some currency since its so cheap. I wanted to know if there are any good links to blogs or publications that could provide some insight into this. Thanks
I am traveling to London and Rome, that’s why I need the Pound and Euro.

Thanks for the answers so far.

It’s worth twice as much as the U.S. dollar now. When will it start to fall? I love England but can’t afford to go there anymore.

There’s a Japanese house for sale at 11,900,000 yen. How many dollars in Canadian (or US) would that be?
