I’ve been trading stocks for a year or so and want to expand into different types of trading like opening a ForEx account. How long did it take you to get a hang of it and any good books or authors on the subject?

I don’t have a strategy; that is what I am asking somebody to help me to do, since I don’t know yet how to do it..

Is there any place on the net where I can download software absolutely free to trade in currency.

Specifically spot currencies (i.e. FOREX), day trading.

I need to know how much spending money to take, either in NZ dollars or yen…I’m going to Oosaka, Tokyo, Toyooka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Disneyland and I’m only going to be in Japan for 10 days. I need to know how much spending money to take, either in NZ dollars or yen. And I don’t need to pay for the entrance to things like Disneyland, accomadation, meals or transport. Thanks:D

Why do the Virgin Islands (British) use the US Dollar instead of printing there own currency or using the British Pound

Most of the other British Overseas Territories either print there own currency which is at par with the British Pound or use the British Pound why doesn’t the Virgin Islands
the name is Virgin Islands I know what im talking about.

The US territory is called the US Virgin Islands, while the official name of the british territory is called the Virgin Islands
Technically the name of the Territory is simply the "Virgin Islands", but in practice since 1917 they have been almost universally referred to as the "British Virgin Islands" to distinguish the islands from the American Territory

For example, instead of buying a currency and being hit with a "pip" charge, is there a site that charges a flat rate per trade (like how ameritarde would operate)?

Is this true? Can anyone tell me more about this?

OK, I know these days everybody is buying yen and dollar.
But I believe Canadian dollar is strongly correlated with the strength of USD.

I’ve been tracking the CAD and CHF and USD last several months, and sometimes the CAD even beat USD and CHF at the same time!

With the situation changed, I understand money flocking into the USD, or even CHF, but why should the CAD be weakened?

Will the CAD be performing like this in the future?

I would like to enter the Foreign Exchange Market but I realy know very little about it. Does anyone know where I could get some accurate information (e.g.: websites)? Are there any good books I should take a look at? What about the Forex programs advertised on the television? Are they worth looking at or are they just a waste of money?

I’ve been living in the UK for about 5 months now. When we first arrived from the US the dollar was trading around .05 vs. 1 pound. Today the dollar is around .53. I know the UK is announcing negative growth for the thrid quarter today, but the US economoy insn’t doing much better. With both the UK and US economies in pretty bad shape…and both getting worse, WHY and HOW IS THE US DOLLAR GETTING STRONGER vs. the pound. Don’t get me wrong….this is great for me, but I don’t understand why and how this is happening. Thanks.
Also, is it expected for this trend to continue or at least remain where it’s at?

I am always reading how wild the forex market is and how most trading forex never profit and stop trading forex. I am looking at various charts for usd to yen or usd to euro for instance and it doesn’t look all that volatile compared to many small cap stocks.. am i missing something? When a currency dips it usually looks to be around a %5 – %10 draw back, I wouldn’t call that very high risk.
Do most people trade forex with margin accounts? From my understanding w/ trading stocks – margin can allow you to double your return or loss, is there typically more leverage allowed for forex traders?

Our stock market is booming, unemployment and interest rates are low, productivity is high, the economy is growing at 4% per year. On the other hand Europe has high unemployment, lower growth in GDP, bigger labor problems, higher taxes, and on, and on. So why is the dollar weak right now. Serious question, not looking for political diatribes, just somebody with real economic knowledge.

Thanks,

Just Askin

Is anyone familiar with the Forex Auto Money system and if so could you give me info on it? Thanks

For the forex traders out there – how do you cope with a missed trade? Earlier this evening my system fired off a signal which I was not able to act on because I had emotional doubts about it (it just didn’t "feel" right). The price shot a hundred pips in the direction which the signal said it would.

I’m kicking myself in the b***s right now.

How do you cope with this? As a trader, what are some of the things you do when a painful thing like this happens? I know a lost opportunity is a lesser evil compared to lost capital, but it still hurts like hell.

For the seasoned traders out there, any tips or advice? Lost opportunities like this happen all the time, right?

Thanks.
